The Challenge
Over 90% humidity, intense steam, and constant water contact in the SPA center posed a huge risk for standard floor coverings. The need for silence (acoustic insulation) in the massage rooms and the wetness in the sauna/Turkish bath transitions had to be solved without breaking or tearing down.
Our Professional Solution
In order not to hinder the hotel customer traffic, the breaking process was completely canceled. Over the old floor, cream-colored Rigid Core SPC parquets with a 100% waterproof and antibacterial surface were applied. To cut off the heel sound in the massage rooms, a special acoustic (IXPE) underlay was laid underneath. Perfect insulation was provided at the sauna and hammam entrances with special profiles that create zero elevation difference in threshold transitions.

While the SPA center gained a 5-star hotel luxury and a warm wood appearance, it had a flawless floor for life that does not swell or deform despite intense water and steam.
